Loudoun County, VA (Nov. 7, 2008) –
DigitalSports.com announced today it has reached an agreement with the Dulles District (Loudoun County, VA) to be the title sponsor for the 2008-2009 Dulles District tournaments and championships in all sports and activities. DigitalSports will also be sponsoring the inaugural Dulles District “Overall Points Championship”, a program that will crown the Dulles District’s best overall sports program for the 2008-2009 school year.

Dulles District fans can follow the “Overall Points Championship” the entire school year on DigitalSports’ Loudoun-based site: www.loudounprepsports.com. In addition, DigitalSports launched today a site dedicated to the Dulles District “Overall Points Championship.”

“This is an exciting partnership for DigitalSports,” said Rich Toland, General Manager of the DigitalSports DC Metro unit.  “It’s a way for us to give back to a community that has been so supportive of LoudounPrepSports.com and DigitalSports.com.  The way the community has embraced our team, our coverage and our programs has really made this something we were proud to attach our name to.”

Park View High School athletic director Joe Breinig , Jr. said the “Overall Points Championship” was a brainchild of several of the Loudoun AD’s.

“We thought it was something that can really energize the community in Loudoun,” said Breinig.

The Dulles District Tournaments and Championships sponsorship will include over 20 sports and student activities such as basketball, cross country, debate, football, forensics, lacrosse, scholastic bowl and wrestling.  The new program will help highlight Loudoun County’s top AA athletic programs and will employ a point system based on regular season standings for some sports and district tournaments for other sports.

Fans, players, teams and schools will be able to follow the standings all year long on DigitalSports.com.

“We want to thank DigitalSports.com for the sponsorship with all our district tournaments, as well as the points championship,” said Breinig.

The Dulles District will release its fall “Overall Points Championship” update after the final regular-season football games take place on Fri. Nov. 7.
