Opener

Sterling
(Sept. 10, 2006) –  Park View senior Deric Dudinski wasted no time in
staking his claim as the premier player in the Group AA Dulles District
as the Patriot rushed for 211 yards on 23 carries, including a 78-yard
romp on the third play of the game, and returned an interception 99
yards for a score in the Partriots’ 21-12 season-opening win over
Jefferson WV Friday.

The
score was 7-0 at the half when his long interception return from the
Cougar 1 in the first minute of the second half prevented Jefferson
from tying  the game and gave Park View a 14-0 lead. Jefferson came
back and scored but Park View countered with quarterback C.J. Leizear’s
9-yard touchdown run. Jefferson’s final touchdown came with 1:25 play.

Leizear finished with 57 yards passing on 12-for-20 attempts.

Louisa County 42 Dominion 7: The
Titans trailed 14-7 at one point in this game after Craig Carlson’s
9-yard TD run, but couldn’t keep up with the talented Lions. Todd
Shelton, replacing graduated star Rontray Houchens, finished with 105
yards on just 10 carries. Louisa scored on the opening kickoff when
freshman Kurt Fleming grabbed a squib kick and went 69 yards. The
Titans were held to 96 total yards.
