Shenandoah Junction, WV (Aug. 30, 2007) – The Park View High School
volleyball team played the spoiler Wednesday night as they came back to
defeat the host Cougars in their first game in a new gym.
Jefferson jumped out with a 25-16 first game win but the Pats clawed back and took the next three games, 25-19, 25-23, 25-14.
Senior Connie Oliver led PV with eight kills, two blocks and an ace.
Seniors Emily Rynex and Krista McManus each added seven kills in the
match.
PV senior setter Emily Garcia registered 24 assists to go with five
digs. Junior Kristin Oravetz had a hot serving night with six aces in
addition to five digs. Senior Chrysa Matyuf led PV with 14 digs and
senior Megan Brown finished with eight digs and four kills.
The Patriots, coached by Kathy Koscinski, are loaded with experience
with nine seniors and three juniors on the 12-person roster.
