Potomac Falls Sweeps LC and PV

Sterling (Spet. 6, 2007) – The Potomac Falls High School boys and
girls cross country teams, led by defending district champions
Christina Lee and Josh Hardin, swept Loudoun County and Park View
Wednesday in a AA Dulles District trimeet opener at Algonkian Regional
Park.

While the Panther boys, the defending district champions, had a
comfortable advantage, out-scoring the Raiders 19 to 42 with the
Patriots third at 83, the girls race was very tight with PF prevailing
27 to 33 over LC. Park View took third in the girls race with 72.

Sophomore Lee took first by clocking in at 19:47 on the 5K course
that PF coach Charles Null said has no big hills but is a tough trail
with lots of stumps and roots.

“You have to be looking constantly at where you’re going,” reported Null.

Following Lee for PF was Melissa Saunders second (20:23),  Shannon
Brady sixth (21:32),  Suzanne Rogers eighth (22:08), Rachel Hagen 10th
(22:43), Kate Poisson 11th (22:55),  Claire Moody 12th (23:05), Sinead
Gilmore 14th (23:06), Shannon Thomas 15th (23:09) and Margaret
Williams 16th (23:11).

For the boys: junior Hardin crossed first in 16:35 followed by Ryan
Hagen third (17:19), Andrew Mott fourth (17:29), Brian Robinson fifth
(17:42), Alvaro Morales sixth (18:02), Jonathan Wyers seventh
(18:06), Mike Riess 10th (18:13), Patrick Wilson 12th (18:36), Josh
Belin 13th (18:37), and Hernan Rojas 14th (18:49).
