Sterling (Sept. 7, 2007) – The Loudoun County High School volleyball team opened AA Dulles District play with a season-high 22 aces in a sweep over Park View Thursday, 25-17, 25-8, 25-9.
Leading the way for the Raiders (1-0, 5-0 overall) were senior Marguerite Hanna with 10 aces, seven kills, six6 digs and 13 service points and junior Katie Martin with 14 assists, 19 service points, three aces, and four digs.
Park View (0-1, 1-1-) was led by Connie Oliver with three kills and Amanda Buck’s six service points, including three aces.
Also on the attack for LC were senior Morgan Petkovich (9 kills), junior Shaylin O’Connell (6 kills, 3 aces, and 2 blocks), sophomore Juliane Hanna (5 kills, 5 digs, and 3 facials). Junior setter Kerry Sarver added 10 assists and five service points, while junior setter/hitter Rochelle Latka contributed four aces and five assists.
The JV and freshman LC teams also swept their matches 2-0.
The Raiders host Potomac Falls Tuesday while Park View travels to Heritage.
