Sterling (Jan. 7, 2008) – Park View High School 5-time state track and field champion Natalie Baird will sign next month with Division I William & Mary.
Baird, one of the top discus throwers in the nation, helped the Patriots last spring to become the first Loudoun team in 31 years to win a track and field championship. The senior will be shooting for her fourth straight discus title and third straight shot put title in 2008.
Baird’s father and throws coach, Brian Baird, said that The Tribe’s quality track and field program as well as the school’s prestigious academic reputation played into Natalie’s decision.
LoudounPrepSports.com is looking forward to covering Baird and the local track and field athletes in 2008, especially at a April 12 meet at Heritage High School that will feature all 10 Loudoun schools and will be sponsored by LoudounPrepSports.com. Read more about it here.
