(June 2, 2008) – Loudoun athletes went 4-for-4 in Region II Player of the Year selections released Monday as Broad Run’s Caitlyn Delahaba (softball) and Holly King (soccer) and Park View’s Dylan Smith (baseball) and Uche Onyeador (soccer) were all honored.
Broad Run’s Claire Collins and Park View’s Arturo Jimenez, who have led their soccer teams to regional titles and Tuesday’s AA state quarterfinals, were named girls and boys Region II Coach of the Year.
In all, 26 Loudoun athletes picked up first team selections and 18 were picked for the second team. Broads Run led all schools with 10 first round selections, including four in softball, three in baseball and girls soccer each.
