To: LPS Viewers!

Well we are still working out our software updates here at DigitalSports so our content is a bit backed up. We are also working out some issues as some of the Sports Centrals and School sites are coming back online.

Rest assured, Alysia “Sideout” Deem and myself are out covering events and we have a lot of good stuff (official term for stories, videos, photos, LPS Monkey musings) to put up. Here is what to expect in the next 72 hours:

Football: Dan is covering Potomac Falls at Loudoun County tonight and Alysia will be at Broad Run at Heritage. Expect video highlights, interviews and photos from both games. Plus we have to get our You  Pick’Em back up! In the meantime, here is Sneak Peak:

You Pick’Em: Last Week’s Winners: Congrats to John Koren, one of our biggest winners two years ago, back in the winner’s circle with his 28-7 BR pick over BW (final was 29-0). He edged out Landon Hawes, young son of PF boys hoops coach Jeff Hawes! Koren also tied with SB baseball coach Sam Plank in our other game as both had PF winning 35-21 over Heritage, off by 13 in the surprising 48-21 final.

This week’s Game: Potomac Falls at Loudoun County (send the final score predictions into Dan email:dsousa@digitalsports.com).

Also in football, here is our latest Power Ranking:

1, Stone Bridge (5-0). 2, Broad Run (4-0). 3, Potomac Falls (4-0). 4, Briar Woods (3-1). 5, Heritage (3-1). 6, Loudoun County (3-1). 7, Loudoun Valley (0-4). 8, Park View (1-3). 9, Dominion (1-3). 10, Freedom (1-3).

Tonight’s games: PF @ LC; BR @ Heritage; Dominion @ BW; PV @ Freedom; Fauquier (4-0) @ Valley; and SB @ South Lakes (1-4).

News: Freedom RB Jeff Pugh likely out for the season. We wish him a speedy recovery!

(Our football stats are behind but we are collected the data … either we will post it over the weekend or send it in with those Lucky Charm box tops to get a glow-in-the-dark decoder ring.)

Volleyball: Dan covered the Briar Woods win over Dominion last night and Alysia was at LC’s win over Potomac Falls. Check back for the story including video highlights and interviews and photos.

Volleyball scoreboard: LC 3, PF 0, BW 3, Dom 1; Her 3, PV 0; BR 3, Free 0; LV 3, Battlefield 2 (Vikes come from behind to take control of first place in Cedar Run District); SB 3, Marshall 0 (Bulldogs open Liberty District play with a win). Check back for a round-up with details on these matches.

We also have the latest Off the Net blog entry from NoDinx to post.

Latest Volleyball Power Rankings: 1, Loudoun County. 2, Loudoun Valley. 3, Heritage. 4, Potomac Falls. 5, Briar Woods. On the bubble: Broad Run, Stone Bridge, Dominion

Cheer: This afternoon we will put up a preview of Saturday’s big cheer meet at Park View. After the meet, check back for a story with video and photos!

Golf: We have video from last week’s Dulles District tournament to put up. We will also have full coverage of Valley’s attempt at repeating as the Northwest Region champion.

Cross Country: BW runners set some records yesterday, check back for details. Plus Dan is working on a fun feature story about ultra-marathon running with interviews with Dominion XC coach Brian Schmidt and LC XC coach Courtney Campbell.

Whew! Not enough for you … for the love of … OK, how about this: Alysia went to the Team Joe charity golf event this morning and has photos and videos (Joe Petrella is so cute! LPS Monkey says uncle Ron Petrella ain’t half bad … not sure what to make of that comment) … We have PF Athletes of the Month to post … an interview with new SB girls soccer coach Joan Windows (her third head coaching job so we reserve the right to call her Windows 3.0) … and breaking news on another coaching hire (shhhh … Paul Tenorio, our favorite WashPost reporter, might be reading …. So we won’t give it away!).
