Volleyball Round-up

Dominion 3, Park View 1

Dominion dropped the first set against Park View Tuesday but came back to win in four, 20-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-16.


The Titans improve to 4-7 and 7-10 while the Patriots dropped to 1-10, 5-13.


Alana Mazurowski ran the Dominion offense with 23 assists, setting up Stephanie Lummis (15 kills), Lauren Wong (11 kills) and Cassie Glosner (9 kills).


Loudoun County 3, Broad Run 0
Loudoun County volleyball improved to 17-0 (11-0) on the season with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-15) sweep over Broad Run Tuesday night. 


The Raiders got contributions from the following: Shaylin O’Connell (8 kills, 7 blocks), Juliane Hanna (8 kills, 5 points), Kerry Sarver (10 assists, 8 points, 3 digs), Rachel Arigo (7 aces, 11 points, 2 kills, 2 blocks), Katie Gloe (12 points, 7 digs, 2 aces), Emily Vandegrift (2 kills, 3 blocks, 3 digs), Rochelle Latka (2 kills, 2 blocks), Robin Marsala (8 assists, 3 digs, 2 kills), Katie Martin (5 assists, 3 points). 


The LC Freshman team won 2-0, and the Raider Junior Varsity team came back to win a great match 2-1. 


Note: The Raiders return to action this Thursday as they raise money for ****** cancer awareness against Briar Woods. Come out and be sure to wear your pink.
Deserts and raffle prizes galore.


Potomac Falls 3, Freedom 0
Potomac Falls swept Freedom Tuesday, 25-14  25-14   25-16.
The Panthers improved to 7-4, 13-4 while Freedom dropped to 0-11, 2-15.

Tori Janowski had 13 assists, 11 kills, 3 aces, 5 service points, 1 block, 8 digs
Nicole Fautuex had 6 assists, 1 block, 2 digs, 3 aces, 6 service points, 4 kills
Katie Shiraishi had 5 assists, 7 digs, 1 ace, 3 service points
Kate Colfelt had 3 aces, 3 digs, 4 aces and 7 service points
Sara Hibson had 1 ace, 1 service point, 1 block, 8 digs and 3 kills
Kayla Motheral had 2 blocks, 3 digs, 1 ****
Annie Reck had 2 blocks, 2 service points, 5 digs
Megan Bahr had 1 block, 1 **** and 1 assists,
Kerry Dwyer had 12  digs, 4 aces and 11 service points
Alexa Campbell had 1 block, 1 dig, 3 aces, 13 service points
Emma Ukleja had 2 kills and 1 dig
Cat Jones had 1 block, 1 ace, 2 service points, 2 kills

Freedom coach Dave Tsuda reports that “Kaitlyn Lamantia led the team in service points with 10 points, three of which were aces.     
The Panther offense kept the Eagle defense scrambling for digs.  Kathryn Ivey lead the team with 10 digs; Kara Phung, Morgan Kemp and Eboni Weeks had 7 digs each; Sarah Chapman had 5 digs, and Carla Gonzalez had 3 digs.  Jenna Flanigin led the team with 8 blocks.”

Stone Bridge 3, Madison 0
Stone Bridge remained undefeated in the AAA Liberty District with a sweep over Madison Tuesday,  25-16,  25-19,  25-12. The Bulldogs are 3-0, 7-9 on the season.
