Football Clinic at Loudoun County: The second annual football coaches clinic at Loudoun County High School opened Friday night in Leesburg with NBC-4 sports anchor Lyndsay Czarniak as the featured speaker. The two-day clinic wraps up today.

Park View’s Ridings to Play at Frostburg: Park View High School senior Jake Ridings has committed to play Division 3 football next year at Frostburg State. Ridings is a 5-foot-9, 175-pound fullback/outside linebacker/gunner on special teams for the Patriots.

“Jake is a senior 2-year starter who plays hard, gets good grades and does good work in the community. Due to the position he plays on the team he may not get as much recognition as others, but he deserves it,” said coach Andy Hill when nominating him for a College Vision Student Athlete of the Month award recently.

Frostburg’s 2008 roster included junior quarterback Bryan Brosnan of Heritage and senior linebacker Justin Shockley of Loudoun County. The Bobcats play in the Atlantic Central Football Conference where they went 3-6 last season.

Broad Run’s Flemming Stands out in Charlotte: Broad Run High School junior wide receiver Adrian Flemming, who helped the Spartans capture the school’s first ever state football title in December. has broken onto the national recruiting spotlinght in a big way after a Nike combine in Charlotte. In fact, Flemming is mentioned in this article on ESPN.com.
