Hot off the Presses! April 29

A quick recap of what we covered tonight and results rolling into our inbox. Basically you get a quick Skinny and a preview of what to check back for tomorrow.

DigitalSports onsite coverage: Dan Sousa was at the Battlefield-Loudoun Valley girls soccer game Wednesday and the Vikes fell 2-1 for their first loss on the season. Valley was in charge in the first half and scored in the 5th minute on an Ashley Manning goal but Valley couldn’t add to the lead and a PK in the 37th minute converted by Bobcat Kelsey Trace tied it going into the half. Battlefield made some adjustments in the second half the possession was more even. Battlefield broke the tie on a questionable PK call in the 60th minute. Nikki Jeffries calmly made the kick to give Battlefield the victory. Check back for photos, vidoes (you make the call on the second PK!) and the full story.

More DigitalSports coverage: Dan was also at the Keri Muse college signing (golf/Wagner) Wednesday at Dominion High School. Check back for photos and a video interview with Keri.

Even More Coverage: On Tuesday Dan was at the Heritage-Broad Run girls soccer match which the Spartans won 1-0 on a late Val Powell goal. Check back for the full story with a photo gallery and videos. We will also be catching up on all the Tuesday action … it was a packed night with the highlight being Stone Bridge senior John Bladel’s no-hitter over Marshall.

A quick scan of our inbox at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday: Stone Bridge boys soccer erase a 1-0 deficit at the half and beat Chantilly in a non-district contest with Mike Herndon picking up a hat trick (3 goals … you newbies) … Broad Run girls soccer easily got by Briar Woods with a 6-1 Dulles District win … Loudoun Valley beat Park View, 10-4 (good buddy … sorry, old CB talk), in non-district softball … and Park View boys lacrosse fell to Kettle Run, 21-4, in more non-district play.
