LPS Site Update: Whole Lot of Content Headed Your Way!

LPS Tribe? Hmmm. LPS Posse? What should we call ourselves … email me your favorite selections … that can be printed on a family website!)

Ashburn (LPS World HQ) June 2, 2009 – Wow … 10 teams still playing for state titles in the final week of the season … we have to call that an all-time record.

Here is what we covered: On Saturday Dan Sousa was at five straight playoff games for over nine hours of coverage. On Sunday we put up 1,450 photos and key videos from that great playoff day.

We are now in the process of putting up recaps/previews of the state quarterfinal/semifinal games coming up Tuesday.

First up was a look at Broad Run/Loudoun Valley softball. Next on tap is a look at the three lax teams playing in the state semifinals tomorrow at Westfield (Broad Run boys and girls and Loudoun Valley girls) followed by a recap of the two All-Loudoun soccer games from Saturday (and a look at the four quarterfinal opponents for BR boys and girls, PF boys and Heritage girls) and then last, but not least!, we will give you the complete results of the AA/AAA state track and field meet from Saturday.

Whew! Expect all of that content up by 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Then on Tuesday … we have an exciting night of coverage:

State Semifinal Lax: Our Northern Region staff is covering these two girls contests for us.

Loudoun Valley AAA Softball: We are going to use our friend’s Carl Lukat of the Loudoun Times-Mirror story and we have professional photographer Gary Sousa (no relation but a great name the same!) will be attending and taking exclusive phots for LPS!

Broad Run AA Softball: J.J. Totaro knows softball. He is the Spartans JV coach and we have him covering the game for us tomorrow. Plus Ken Betz is going to be taking photos! Thanks guys!

Broad Run AA Girls Soccer: Dan Sousa is covering this game with photos, videos, witty quips and a full story!

Potomac Falls AA Baseball and Boys Soccer: Well, if the Panthers would move the boys soccer game to Park View, like the BR girls, then we would have a DH! We are going to use the Loudoun Times-Mirror again, this time Jason S. Rufner will be the “Man from the Mirror”. And for the boys soccer, we are in the process of seeking a stringer for this game (low pay, a little glory, lot of LPS Monkey love … uhm, you get the picture .. email dsousa@digitalsports.com if you know your Barcelona’s from your Man U’s …)

That takes care of the 8 teams playing locally … Broad Run boys soccer and Heritage girls soccer promise to “phone home” (like E.T.) from the road after their contests.

Just think … five more days left until the prep season ends … six more days until we sleep and sleep and sleep ….
