Sterling (Aug. 23, 2007) – Park View High School rising senior Paige
Pierson, on the mend from ACL knee surgery, has chosen George Mason
University to play Division I women’s soccer starting in 2008-09.
Pierson, a first team all-Dulles District player as a sophomore,
never took the field as a junior for the Patriots as she went down with
an injury in the first five minutes of the spring’s first scrimmage.
Pierson suffered a bone fracture as well in the injury on March 8 and
she had to wait six weeks until mid-April to have her successful ACL
surgery. She is currently returning to jogging and light practice.
The forward/midfielder plays travel soccer for the Loudoun Hotshots.
“Paige picked GMU for academic and athletic reasons,” said Pierson’s
mother Les Ann. “She wanted a school close to home but one that had a
competitive Division I program.”
